"Superior Donuts" CBS Studios

"Superior Donuts" was my first studio screenwriting credit. This sitcom was based on a play by Tracy Letts that explored gentrification in the south side of Chicago as told through the older owner of a donut shop and his young employee.

I wrote episode 14 of season 2, an episode that began a romantic arc for the main character that lasted through the end of the season.

As a younger writer at the time, this was a major break for myself in my nascent writing career. Through dedication and continual helpful pitches in the writers' room, I proved that I was ready to write the script, and I was given an episode.
